About Me
George Higgins, 22
I am an independent filmmaker and musician from the North-West of England, currently based in Manchester and Liverpool. I have seven years of experience in shooting videos for clients, as well as an advanced level of editing in both Final Cut Pro and Premier Pro.
I started making short films at around ten years old and made my first music video at fourteen. I have since produced videos for several Merseyside artists such as Esme Bridie, The Merchants, and Paint Me In Colour. I have also worked as a camera operator on videos for The Lottery Winners, Jamie Webster, and Hacienda Classical, as well as with companies such as Open Media and Netflix.
Whilst my focus is on Music Videos, I have been a DP on a number of short narrative films including Le Rien (2020) and Deadly Potential (2022), which was nominated for Best Film at the National Youth Film Awards 2022. I also have a passion for documentary film. My short-form documentaries The Kendos: First Gig Back (2020), Esme Bridie: Building a Tower of Regret (2021), and Next Door's Superstore (2022), as well as my other films can be found in the 'FILM' reel.
I was a member of the National Youth Film Academy from March 2021 to September 2022 and I currently study Film and Drama at the University of Manchester.
The combination of visuals, editing, music, sound, and performance provides endless possibilities for creativity. I try to demonstrate this in my work by making sure no two of my films are the same. I am passionate about visual storytelling and I am sure to bring that heart and passion to any project.
